Bonneary Simas Kilong Ung
After an incredible escape into Thailand in 1979, he came to the United States, learned English, graduated from Cleveland High School, graduated from Reed College with B.A. in mathematics, graduated from Bowling Green State University with M.S. in applied statistics and operations research, started his career with Andersen Consulting, served as president of the Cambodian-American Community of Oregon for four years, taught computer language classes at Portland Community College, and taught database programming classes at STEP Technology.

He had served as a member of the Portland Immigrant and Refugee Task Force, Interstate Corridor Urban Renewal Advisory Committee's Housing Subcommittee, Portland Office of Neighborhood Involvement Director Hiring Committee, and Board of the Portland Village School. He is a member of the Oregon Council on Civil Rights, Executive Board of the Cascade Pacific Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Advisory Team of the Project Enlighten, and Advisory Team of the Cambodian-American Community of Oregon.

He is now an online banking software engineer at Fiserv, a Royal Rosarian, a member of the Rotary Club of Portland, an Ambassador for Peace, a Boy Scoutmaster, , a community volunteer, a speaker, and an author. Before coming to work fulltime at Fiserv, Mr. Ung was the sole proprietor of KU (Knowledge Unlimited) Consulting. Currently, he is the sole proprietor of KU Publishing LLC.

He has spoken at Multnomah Athletic Club, Royal Rosarians, Rotary, Wholistic Peace Institute, University of Oregon, University of Portland, Portland Community College, Clackamas High School, International School of Beaverton, Portland International Community School, First United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, Portland Peace Memorial Park, Portland State University, and Center for Intercultural Organizing.

Choeun was President of CACO during the 1998 to 2000 term and is one of the founding fathers. He goes by “Uncle Choeun” and is well known by the community as a kind and gentle hearted person with a passion and commitment to bring the community together.

Sivheng is a key supporting figure and a founder of CACO. She currently works at the Asian Family Center for the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization. Sivheng’s welcoming smile and cheerful attitude are a reflection of her commitment to the community.

Michaels' caring ways and positive attitude make him a trustworthy and highly respected person in the community. During a recent visit to Cambodia with his wife Melanie, they graciously donated medicine, clothing, and built wells in villages.

Bopha Ping Bopha Ping
Board of Director
Bopha Ping has been active with CACO since 1997 and served as an Executive Treasurer from 2003-2004. Bopha works as a Loan Officer for loss mitigation at Merrill Lynch and has four daughters. Bopha has been the program director for Khmer Heritage Night, CACO biggest annual celebration, for the past two years in 2007 and 2008.

Mike Mahoney, is also the Co-Director of our humanitarian program called Beyond Ordinary Borders. His heart is in Cambodia after numerous visits back to see the country a tourists and as a humanitarian. A sound engineer for many years and now a valued employee of Astoria Pacific. He is known for always being one of the first to help and usually, one of the last to leave. We are very lucky to have Mr. Mahoney.

Patti Duncan Patti Duncan
Board of Director
Patti Duncan is Associate Professor of Women's Studies at Oregon State University, where she specializes in transnational feminist theories and movements, women of color in the U.S., and Asian Pacific American women's writings and experiences. She received her Ph.D. from the Institute for Women's Studies at Emory University. She is author of Tell This Silence: Asian American Women Writers and the Politics of Speech (Univ. of Iowa Press, 2004), and numerous articles about women of color, feminist pedagogy, and transnational feminisms. She is co-Director/co-Producer of Finding Face, a documentary film about acid violence against women in Cambodia, and she is Associate Producer of Bombhunters, a documentary film by Skye Fitzgerald about the long-term effects of war and genocide in Cambodia. She is also a member of APA Compass, an Asian Pacific American public affairs radio program on KBOO 90.7 FM in Oregon.

Chanly Bob is the current President of CACO and has been an active member of CACO since 2003. Chanly came to the U.S. as a refugee in 1982 and became a United States citizen in 1998. He is the youngest of 11 children of which three are deceased. His father is also deceased, falling victim to the Khmer Rouge in 1975. Chanly is one of two children having graduated from Oregon State University with an Information Technology degree. During his years in college, he was an active volunteer and served one term as Vice President of the Cambodian Students Association. He is currently a Unix Support Specialist for Portland General Electric. He is a driver for PGE's Meals on Wheels, an Ambassador for Peace, and also serves as a youth mentor, offering career guidance to those with an interest in the Information Technology career. Dany Madden Dany Madden
Vice President of Programs & Events

Dany came from a Chinese-Cambodian family of 6 girls! Her aunt and uncle adopted her to the US in 1995. She graduated early with honors from Oregon State University with a degree in Computer Science, while holding down three jobs and taking one year off for two engineering internships. Currently, Dany works at IBM, Linux Technology Center, since 2005 as a Software Engineer. She also owns her own business selling Mary Kay cosmetics. Aside from community and professional life, she enjoys keeping busy and living a productive life with a supportive husband, Rick Madden.

Chann Noun Koann Tan
Treasurer
Koann Tan, holds the position as Treasurer for CACO, to help ensure transparency and correctness of CACO's finances. A Software Engineer at one time, and have been a Super-Mom ever since. She have been a long time supporter and volunteer for many years and continue to do so with her husband, a decorated colonel with the Oregon Army National Guard.

Chann was called upon to take on an important role that requires much volunteer work. Being that time is precious, he was cautious and selective in his involvement. He was hesitant until he saw our many volunteers in action to better the community and how much each and everyone of us are having fun doing so. Chann comes to us with many years as a professional Lead Accountant for the Merchants Exchange of Portland, and years of experiences as a non-profit accountant. Melanie joined CACO in 2003, but has been a community volunteer and dance teacher for many years. She is a volunteer language teacher and continue to be passionate about causes that impact Cambodia.
